The chronicle of two crazy men, an Auto-Rickshaw
and a 1950km race from Mumbai to Chennai
Mark Howman & Nick Griffin
Mumbai Express, Auto Rickshaw Challenge 2015
Meet Mark Howman & Nick Griffin
It all started on a hot and sweaty night in Mumbai in late 2014, two middle aged men, two cold beers (yes only two), and a crazy idea. Nick had read about the Mumbai Express Rickshaw Challenge and had wanted to compete in the race for years... the only problem, he had no friends crazy enough to take part with him. Enter Mark... all of a sudden, the adventure looked like it might happen... and Team Em+En was born.
Now in 'normal life', Mark and Nick are part of a team that front the world leader in financial services brand, retail and customer experience design, allen international. Nick from Dubai, and Mark from London.
Travel is a part of every day life and being on the road, meeting clients and delivering awesome solutions for banks and telecoms companies around the world is what they do, in some of the worlds most challenging and exciting markets.
But the Mumbai Express Rickshaw Challenge, raises the 'adventure bar' to whole new level. Full of excitement and anticipation, Nick and Mark annouced to the world that they are going to compete in the race. The reaction of our friends ranged from pure shock and horror, to nervous admiration.
The adventure we are about to embark on will leave Mumbai on 8th August 2015, pass through Alibad, Pune, Mahabaleshwar, Ratnagiri, Panaji, Bhatkal, Mangalore, Mysore, Bangalore, Vellore, before ending in Chennai on 21st August 2015.
This simple little web site will chronicle our adventures in pictures, video and words.
We'd love you to get in touch with us, laugh at us, wish us well or just share the adventure from the comfort of your armchair. You can do this by email (from the contact page), twitter (by clicking on the link above and tweeting us), instagram, or whatsapp (+971 50 457 3524).
Thank you for all your support and see you at the finish.

This trip is all about having fun, seeing the world in a different way
and telling as many people as we can about it.
Companies are asking us if we will carry their brand on the side of our Rickshaw - let's face it, this is great P.R. for any business, but we won't take your money to pay for our trip - that's coming out of our pockets.
If you want us to carry your brand, you need to get in touch, be prepared to make a significant donation to a Social Investment Program we believe in and only then, will we talk about how you can make this happen.
We'll be posting and tweeting the whole experience live, including the pre-race build up and post race celebrations, so you'll have plenty of material to use in your P.R. Activites.
